Brown Mountain Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate out & back trail in the South District of Shenandoah National Park.

Brown Mountain Trail crosses Rocky Mountain and Brown Mountain, then descends to Big Run . The trail ends at its intersection with the Big Run Portal Trail.

Getting Started

Parking is available at Brown Mountain Overlook (MP 77) on Skyline Drive. A cement post marks the trailhead, at a break near the middle of the stone wall.

This trail can only be accessed from within Shenandoah National Park--no boundary access. Entrance fee or membership is required for Park entry.
