Overview

The Ford Canyon Loop is a very difficult and fun loop in the White Tanks. Starting at picnic area number 7 you can follow the beautiful Mesquite Trail up to the Willow Canyon trail. You will see some pretty views of Willow Canyon while you make your way to the Ford Canyon junction. When you come up to the junction take a right and start your journey on the Ford Canyon trail. This trail is marked as a double black diamond because of the beautiful white rocks that make up the dam that you will pass over. The white rocks of the dam usually hold some water and you can see tadpoles swimming around in there. You will have a lot of fun climbing down the white rocks as you do a little scrambling in this area. As you continue on you will come to the Waddell trial that will take you back to the parking lot. This is a difficult trail where you will need to do a little route finding and scrambling. Make sure to take plenty of water.

Getting Started

There is a $6 park entrance fee and you can get a really good map of the park at the gate. Consider starting from area 7.

Taking Children

Children and dogs are not recommended on this loop.
