Overview
This is a moderate loop trail to Haynes Ridge in Caprock Canyons State Park.
This trail goes by 42, 39, 43, 41, 40, 36, 37, 38, South Prong Primitive Camping Area, North Prong Primitive Camping Area, 55, 54, 53, 52, 51, South Prong Tent Camping Area, 45, 46, 47, 50, 49, and 48.

Most of this is listed as “challenging” or on Haynes Ridge “very challenging” by the state parks themselves.
There are sections of this hike that are steep and a bit scary for someone afraid of heights. And 3 places where our smallish hiking dog jumped and missed (waist high is higher than she can stand on back legs … and she almost got it). Still, it’s part of the adventure!
We did not complete all of Haynes ridge but did do the whole loop surrounding it - South Prong camping area through North Prong and back.
