Overview

This is an easy up and back trail in Upper Bidwell Park.

This trail passes by the cliff face overlook known as "Monkey Face" because from certain angles along the hike, the cliff face does look like a monkey's face.

This trail goes by Horseshoe Lake.

Getting Started

There is a gravel parking lot at the base of the hike. Water and pit toilets are available. Dogs are allowed off-leash on this side (north side) of the road.

Taking Children

This is a tough hike for little kids. It gets steep. There are cliffs around "Monkey Face" and uneven footing. Older kids with sure footing can climb in and around Monkey Face.
