Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail in Haleakalā National Park.
This hike explores a dry desert terrain dotted with towering cinder cones that comes alive when spotting the rare native silverswords. This place is unlike any other on earth.
This hike is completely exposed. Have plenty of water, snacks, foul weather gear, and lights if you begin after noon. Only bathrooms are at the trailhead.
