It was a decent hike but I will suggest that you avoid going left where the loop starts unless you bring a machete. Completely overgrown with thorny bushes, mesquite and poison oak. And to top it all off... ticks. Lots of ticks.
Stick to the right and return on the same trail and it is a beautiful hike. The pond isn't spectacular but it is a nice place to relax and listen to the birds and the frogs. Very serene.

Manzanita and chaparral are blocking access to the pond from the south, blocking the trail. Swing wide to the right of the pond to get around the mess.
