This is a moderate hike. Clearly marked trail access along the road to Chisos Basin. The trail is well maintained. It starts with easy inclines but gets steeper once you’ve gone about a mile. Switchbacks help to dampen the incline. Some mostly rock areas may be an issue if wet. Great vistas of Juniper Canyon and into Mexico. The rocks, vegetation and birds all add to the reasons to do this hike.

Great views in way up and once you get to too. Go early morning to not only beat the heat, but also to get a parking spot.

Hikers guide from the national park rates this as MODERATE. It truly is moderate and took generally decent shape people almost 4 hours. TOTALLY WORTH the hike but the easy rating on this app is wrong

This hike was awesome and should not be missed if you like to hike and want amazing scenery. Parking is limited at the trailhead so you may want to factor in some extra time. The trailhead is not at the visitor center as we were led to believe.

This is the best moderate hike in the park. Wonderful views. Lost Mine Trail far exceeds the trail to the window and only requires a little more effort. If you are not able to hike all the way to the end, just hike the 3/4 mile to the saddle for a great view of Juniper Canyon. This part is an easy walk with a gradual incline.
