Schuerman Mountain Trail and Shuermann Lookout South
Overview
This trail gives you amazing views of the layered red rock mountains that Sedona is known for. The trail has a gentle climb in the beginning and then starts a moderate climb about 0.2 miles in. You will continue up the path and come out on a low saddle. Take the short lookout trail for some beautiful panoramic views and great photo opts of the red rocks. After you visit the lookout, go back to the intersection and turn left to complete the trail going south. When you reach the next trail junction you can turn around to head back and enjoy the views again on this easy to moderate out and back hike.
Getting Started
Take 89A west 4.2 miles to the traffic signal at Upper Red Rock Loop Road. Turn left and go 0.25 miles, passing the high school and turning onto the third driveway to the right follow the signs for trailhead parking.
Taking Children
This is a great trail for children and dogs.
