We entered the lottery dozens of times and finally won. Every landscape lover should put this on their list. It is amazing.
I will disagree with “easy” however; the steep parts can be treacherous because of sandy spots on the slick rock. It may be easy for some experienced hikers. The final ascent to the Wave and several dune crossings are moderate IMHO.
A group of six dropped backpacks in the middle of the prime real estate and spent better part of an hour taking dozens of pictures of themselves and selfies while others were in the overlook area waiting their turn. Not nice.

Gorgeous. This was one of the most extraordinary features I've ever had the pleasure to visit. It was a very hot and dry hike in early September. There are no water sources near the trail, and there is no shade except for when you are at the Wave itself, so bring plenty of water. I recommend at least 4L. We each went through over 2L and we started at 8 AM and didn't do the whole part of the trail that goes past the Wave. The trail itself is not very difficult, but there are some steep places where you are walking in sand, and some places where you are side hilling, which can be challenging for some. I will definitely do this again if I ever have the opportunity. It is absolutely beautiful and amazing - like God hid a piece of artwork in the Arizona desert.
