Volcano Art Center Gallery via Sulfur Banks Trail and Crater Rim Trail
Overview
This is an easy hike which begins at the Kilauea Visitor Center and ends at the iconic Volcano House within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
This trail goes by Ha'akulamanu - Sulphur Banks, Steam Vents, and Steaming Bluffs.
The hike explores the rare plants and birds, the Hawaiian culture, and the volcanic activity at the summit of Kilauea Volcano, the youngest of the five volcanoes which make up Hawaii Island.
On a clear day, you’ll be able to view the other volcano, Mauna Loa that the National Park Service is responsible for protecting. Both volcanoes are active and may be erupting.
Getting Started
Use the crosswalk and look for the trail sign “Sulpher Banks” which is between the Volcano Art Center and the Volcano House.
Taking Children
