Overview

This is a moderate one way trail in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. As with a lot of hikes in this area it is pretty rocky. From the parking are you can hike either North or South. North will take you into Harpers Ferry, which will be about 10 miles round trip. Or you can head South to the nearest shelter (or as far as you want). The nearest shelter is about 3.5 miles from the parking lot

This trail goes by Loudoun Heights.

Getting Started

Parking is in a small (10-12 spaces) gravel lot just off the north bound side of Route 9 in Keys Gap. There is a good AT trail map posted. You can hike either direction.

Not a bad hike, rocky and as you can see on the elevation profile there is quite a drop in the elevation around mile 3.5, which obviously mean a steep climb on the return, if you choose to go that far.
