Overview
This is a difficult one way trail in San Juan National Forest. This trail is highly trafficked. Please respect the alpine environment and stay on the trail, pack out your waste, keep your pets on leashes. This is a beautiful area of the San Juan National Forest. Leave no trace to help preserve it for generations to come.
Getting Started
Talk with the Outdoor Research folks at the trail head. They have been hanging out this summer to help educate people on how to protect this place.

This is one of my top hikes. You will see lots of mountain waterfalls, small lakes and wild flowers. We did this hike in September so it wasn’t packed. It rained and hailed which made it challenging at times, but well worth every step. The only drawback was that it was very windy at the top so we couldn’t hang out at the amazing blue lake.
