Tunnel Bluffs
Overview
This is a relatively short, though very steep hike with some wonderful views at the top. The trail, although challenging, is strictly hiking, however it does have some steep sections, so appropriate footwear (ie not sandals) is a good call. The trail is well marked, and there is little to no route finding involved. Bring water, as you won't find any up here. Anticipate this hike taking from 3 to 4 hours.
Getting Started
Parking is an issue! BC transport has changed the rules and if you try to park at the section adjacent to the highway, you will be towed if parked for more than 20 minutes. This has been done to discourage people from popping across the highway to access the trailhead. Consider being dropped off, or you will need to start from the Lion's bay or something similar.
Taking Children
This is a 6 out of 10 for children. Steep, but not terribly arduous, this could make for a fun day out for a precocious kid.
