Overview
This is an easy out and back trail through Grapevine Hills to Balanced Rock in Big Bend National Park. The first 3/4 mile is a gradual climb through a dry wash leading to a 1/4 mile climb up to the balanced rock. While the trail is mostly easy, there is some rock scrambling required at the end. Return the same way.
This hike is best done in the morning as there is no shade along the route.
Getting Started
The trailhead is located 6 miles down the Grapevine Hills dirt road. Good tires and moderate vehicle clearance are required to make the drive.
