Fourth of July trail to Washington lake overlook
Recorded trail is only the return trip, double the stats for the full out-and-back hike. Mileage sign at trailhead is wrong. Says 1.25 mi to F of J lake but it is 1.8 mi, another mile to Washington lake. Last .25 mi to Washington lake is downhill and rocky, narrow.
Moderate trail, several fairly easy stream crossings in July. Moderately busy on weekends. 11 mile narrow dirt road to trailhead goes thru a large burn area but trail is above the burn site. Good sized parking lot at trailhead. Dogs allowed.
