West Canfield Butte via Trail 1(edit)

Overview

This is a moderately difficult out and back trail to West Canfield Butte in Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The qty of dirt bikes and mountain bikes that use most of this trail have created a scree-talus scramble for the final 3-400m to the Butte.

Getting Started

Due to the qty of dirtbikes and mountain bikes using this entire range, it is imperative and unnerving to walk with a GPS in your hand for guidance - dozens of trails created by wheeled vehicles thereby causing confusion all the way to the summit - a communications station. I loved the hike but won't do it again using the same infil route.
