Beautiful hike. About one hour of steady uphill gaining 1000 feet with switchbacks and very little shade. Enter Granite Chief and enjoy pine shade and that delicious Christmas tree aroma.
First two lakes are on the smaller side and silted. Third lake is fantastic. There are a few paths to the lake side, the best of which has an inviting flat sand opening with flat rocks to sit on. Went for a dip on a 70 degree sunny day. 10 / 10 would go again.
