Overview
This is a moderate- strenuous hike that climbs up the more gradual south east slope of Mount Bailey. The trail climbs steadily through conifer forest before you reach a ridge offering a view into the glacially carved cirque facing diamond lake. The trail then climbs into volcanic scree before reaching the relatively flat summit with panoramic views of the cascades!
Beware of mosquitos on the lower trail in the summer.
This trail goes by Hemlock Butte Ski Cabin.
