Overview

This is an easy out and back hike featuring views of Upper Clifty Creek. It is generally one of the less traveled trails in the park. If you hike Trail 8 all the way to the end it will take you down to the creek, but you will either need to hike all the way back or make a partial loop using other trails. Trail 8 is considered one of the gateway trails to the canyon below.

Getting Started

Park at the north end of the parking area by the north gate. The trailhead is just to the northwest. There will be a small creek crossing and then you'll be on the trail.

Taking Children

If done as an out and back hike this would be alright for most older children. This trail is not ideal for small children because of the steep cliffs along the edge of most of the trail.
