Eco Trail to Griffith peak spur
This trail was known as eco trail going up to the connecting trail of the south loop to mount charleston. This area of the mount was closed for many years due to the carpenter one fire. The trail was rerouted quite a bit and was extended adding many switch backs. The very top you can take the Griffith Peak spur for about another 1/3 mile and and additional 700 feet of elevation.
This trail has a constant incline and still shows signs of the fire. It has 3 overlooks starting at the halfway mark and are absolutely breathtaking. You will be exposed to direct sun for 50% of this hike due to fire and the trees being scorched. The rest of the hike you will walk in a shady tree line. A 1/2 past the base of the trail you will cross a field of wild flowers of lavender and other sweet smelling bloomers.
Cathedral Rock Picnic Area to Mount Charleston National Recreation Trail, Mount Charleston, NV, USA
Beautiful day for hiking. Trail is passible all the way to peak of Mt Griffith with only minimal snow to pass through.
