Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail in Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area. Gaia records 16.8 miles, taking the north loop both ways. Minimal trail use becomes even more sparse past the falls. As of 8/2022, trail is in terrific shape. Lovely Montana scenery!
Getting Started
Follow the Bass Creek Rd off Hwy 93 about 4 miles south of Florence. Rough pavement to the trailhead. No outhouse at the trailhead, but there are some at the adjacent campground.
Taking Children
The trail runs along Bass Creek which can run fast. But, the first 1-2 miles allow easy access to some sweet swimming spots with calmer water.
