Love Mt Tallac, easily one of the best views to be earned
This is not an easy hike, the first half is relatively moderate, but once reaching Gilmore Lake the terrain becomes exposed, and very rocky. However, this is, in my opinion, the easier route than from the true Tallac Trailhead, as that trail saves most of the elevation gain for the final mile and a half, and is climbing the side of a mountain which provides challenges of vertigo and such
Prepare for a long hike, bring tons of water or a filter as there is generally crossing, and enjoy your time at the summit. There is a large marmot that seems to enjoy company at the peak
