Overview
This is a moderate one way trail in Cape Lookout State Park. Quicker hike down to a quiet and less trafficked beach. Excellent spot to find sand dollars that have washed up on the beach. Tide pools to the north of the beach exit provide a ton of interesting water life to examine.
This trail goes by Meriwether-Clark Scout Reservation.
Getting Started
Park at Cape lookout trailhead and follow the starting trail out to the viewpoint, the trail down to the beach will cut 180 degrees to the left about 100 feet into the hike. This is the beach trail to follow.
Taking Children
Not a difficult or dangerous hike. First half is downhill, second half is back uphill. Take breaks uphill as necessary with young kids.
