Overview

This is a moderate lollipop loop trail in Yellowstone National Park.

This trail goes by Black Opal Spring, Wall Pool, Island Geyser, Sapphire Pool, Black Pearl Geyser, Jewel Geyser, Mustard Spring, Shell Spring, Avoca Spring, and Mystic Falls.

After making the initial trek to the loop, take the right fork for a more gradual ascent. The trail on the left is steep in places and you'll be happy to have that be your descent route!

Once you reach the falls, be sure to explore the small foot paths that lead to other great views of the terraced falls.

Getting Started

The hike starts at the Biscuit Basin parking area, which can get crowded.

Taking Children

This is a good hike for kids, but be prepared to go slow in places. The falls are magnificent and worth the trek.
