Spencer Butte via Blanton Ridge Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a difficult out and back trail to Spencer Butte Trailhead in Eugene.

This trail starts at Blanton Ridge Trailhead and goes by 52nd & Willamette Trailhead with the halfway point at Spencer Butte.

Getting Started

Park at the Blanton Ridge Trailhead and proceed south on the trail until you arrive at the 52nd & Willamette Trailhead, then follow the signs toward the Spencer Butte Summit trail. Once you have summited the Butte, turn around and return the way you came. There are several alternative routes to the top of the Butte.

Taking Children

This is a moderate hike for children. The last part of the ascent to Spencer Butte is steep with several longer switchbacks and stone steps at the top which become quite slippery, especially when wet.
