I ran this September 6 from Mt Rose Summit to the Brockway TH. Smokey in lower elevations but better once up on TRT. Hazy views but spectacular of Lake Tahoe. An easy hour plus run to Relay Oeak then a screamin downhill on perfectly pitched trail. In mid eighties with hazy smoke/cloud cover. This was a shuttle and one of my favorite runs on the TRT. Recommend doing this in July or August when the wild flowers are peaking.

Started out at 0719. Warm morning, beautiful blue skies. Nice hike out to Galena water falls.
Then up to Relay Peak. So beautiful up there. Views all around. It was a warm day with a breeze. Lots of shade today. Hiked along with views if Lake Tahoe for a long time. Butterflies flew around us. Had lunch at about 1230. We were making pretty good time today.
Some areas had lots of Schafer rock, tough to hike on. Poor Miyoko slipped on a rock right on her coccyx. Mules ear everywhere on the mountain side. So amazing.
Last couple of miles were tough on the blistered feet. Wonderful day overall
