Overview

This track is a one-way track up to Teneriffe Mountain past the Teneriffe Falls. The route is unofficial, but is a great option for an experienced and fit hiker, who wants to avoid the crowds doing the standard Mt. Si route.
Before leaving the parking lot, check out the posted trail map and possibly take a picture of it on your phone for reference, but you will not find the route you will take from the Falls to the Peak on the map posted at the Trailhead because it is unofficial and should only be done by experienced hikers.

From the parking lot, head up the Mount Teneriffe trail for nearly a mile, to an intersection signed for Teneriffe Falls and take a right here. Note that this track does not include mileage or elevation gain from the trailhead, it is only for one-way on the unofficial trail past the falls. It will be an additional 2.8 miles to the Falls and 1585 feet of elevation gain.

Most of the trail is clear to follow, but at some point if you are not attentive you may find yourself on an old bootleg trail that runs parallel to the stream. If so, looks for signs of the new trail on your right, which was built to provide a safer route for hikers and to minimize erosion and sediment in the fish-bearing stream.
Once you reach the final lookout for Teneriffe Falls, take a photo, if the falls are flowing--they will be dry in the summer--but magnificent in the spring and fall and maybe frozen in the winter. The trail to the peak will be slightly before you reach the Falls viewpoint. You will head straight up on this trail until you reach the ridge-line and then you will head left towards the Peak.
Have some snacks and water and enjoy the stellar views with Mt.Si to the South and the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River below.
When you are ready to head down, you have the option of going back down the way you came or taking the old Mt. Teneriffe Road trail down. This Road is an official trail and will be a long haul but is not steep like the Falls route.

Getting Started

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
From I-90, take exit 32 (436th Avenue SE). Turn left (north) over the freeway and drive 0.5 miles to SE North Bend Way. Turn left (west), and in 0.25 mile turn right (north) on SE Mount Si Road. In 2.9 miles (past the Little Si and Mount Si trailheads), you will reach a 70-car paved parking area on the left. A Discover Pass is required to park here. Restrooms are available at the trailhead.

The trail begins to the right of the restrooms.

Important - The parking lot is gated and locked after hours. The hours vary depending on the time of year. Check the hours before leaving your car.

The older parking area (a school bus turnaround near 480th Ave SE) is now off-limits. Please park only in the main lot during open hours.

TAKE TRANSIT
Take the bus to the trailhead!

For the 2019 hiking season, Trailhead Direct is providing transit service from the Seattle area to popular trails in the area.

Track (5/15/20, 8:47:43AM) Mt Teneriffe via Kamakazi trail
Soft snow last 500 feet or so, yak tracks/micro spikes and poles highly recommended, especially for descent.
