Grand Canyon Hermits Rest to Bright Angel
Grand Canyon day hike. Hermits Rest to Bright Angel.
A difficult hike. Not for a novice. Must be done in spring or fall. Winter snow could make this less traveled trail impassible. Summertime...do not attempt.
23.5 miles. 5100’ AEG.
Bring 4 liters of water per person. There are a few places to purify water. Fresh water on the Bright Angel segment at Indian Gardens.
Take the shuttle bus to Hermits Rest in the morning. Preferably at daybreak. Full service bars and restaurants await you at the end at the Grand Canyon Village!
A stunning way to see a sliver of the Canyon. Amazing rock formations. Pictures simply don’t do it justice. Must be seen to be believed.
