Duke Creek Falls Trailhead via Dukes Creek Falls
Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail to Duke Creek Falls Trailhead in Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest (Chatooga District) that features a waterfall.
A sign points to the observation deck and waterfall. There is not much of a view from the deck, so be sure to continue to the falls. The trail begins as a boardwalk and turns into a wide, natural trail that follows the river. At the falls, the trail forks to upper and lower viewing decks. Check them both out for different views of the waterfalls.
Getting Started
Park at Dukes Creek Falls Recreation Area off Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway near Helen, Georgia. A day pass to park costs $4.
Taking Children
This is an easy hike for children. The trails are wide and well-traveled. The observation decks have railings and benches from which to view the waterfalls.
