Glacier View
Overview
This is a easy-moderate out and back trail to Glacier View in Glacier View Wilderness Area. Fill out your free wilderness area permit before heading up. Trail is in great condition, several areas of good incline followed by a nice 0.5 mile or so flat walk before you reach your final incline to the top where the views are awe inspiring. On a clear day not only will you have Mount Rainier right there in your face, but if you look to the south you'll see Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens. Step edges off the view point so if you are traveling with children keep an eye on them. I traveled with a small dog and left her tied up to one of the poles sticking out of the ground at the top just to be safe.
There are a few spurs off the trail to Glacier View Summit, just stay to the left
Getting Started
No bathrooms available. WTA states this trail requires a Northwest Forest Pass, however no signage at the trailhead stating any pass was required. Fill out your free wilderness permit before heading up the trail. It's a long drive up a forest road with some areas that you'll need to slow down for the potholes.
Taking Children
Children and pets can handle this hike, just be careful of the cliffs/drop-offs at the top.
