Mount Hale via Fire Warden's Trail and North Twin Trail
Overview
Fire wardens trail is an unmaintained trail off of the the North Twin Trail. It is a gentler way up to the summit of Mount Hail unlike the steep Hale Brook Trail. Even though this is an technically an unmaintained trail, it is very easy to follow and appears to be maintained by someone.
This is a Moderate out and back trail to Mount Hale in White Mountain National Forest.
Getting Started
Summer time there is a good amount of parking at North Twin trailhead
During the winter Haystack road is closed and there is no parking by the gate. Due to a land owner dispute there is absolutely no parking at the end of little river road. Access to fire wardens trail has changed in the last couple of years. You now must park at Seven Dwarfs Motel for a fee of $10, leave the fee under your windshield wiper
After you park continue to walk down Little river road and take a right over the bridge. Take spikes and snow shoes off while crossing the bridge. The old herd path was just past the bridge on the left. Do not go this way, the new herd path is down the drive way on the same side, you cant miss it. This will bring you to Haystack road. Take a left and follow the road to the trailhead.
