Eileen Lake via Pacific Crest Trail and Obsidian Trail #3528
Overview
This is a difficult one way trail to Eileen Lake in Willamette National Forest. The trail begins at the entrance to the Obsidian Trail, which is a limited entry trail that requires a permit for either day hiking or overnight camping (available at <www.recreation.gov>) and that can only be accessed when Highway 242 is open. Weekend permits during peak summer months disappear quickly, once the site opens in spring. Although the most common loop route for Obsidian Trail hikers is to hike counterclockwise and return via the PCT, the trip to Eileen Lake offers an off the beaten path camping spot. Hikers should watch for trail signs that head right shortly after the signs for Glacier Way on the Obsidian Trail.
This is an alternate route for Eileen Lake via Obsidian Trail #3528.
