Getting Started
The Fall Creek Unit section of the Henry Cowell State Park provide a hiking environment that is cooler than elsewhere in the area, under complete tree cover. The Fall Creek runs year around with stronger streams during the winter and fall. Lush vegetation among the Redwood trees, with trails long enough and with some steep climbs to afford ample elevation gains as well, all combining to provide hiking enthusiasts a fantastic hiking experience.
Taking Children
This park is an excellent venue to take young children so that they can experience and enjoy the amazing outdoors of the SF Bay Area. Hiking with children along the creek to see the gold fish in Fish Pond, look at the old Like Kilns, and even dip in the cool Fall Creek cool waters will create a memorable experience for your young hikers that is sure to make them want to visit this park again and again.
