Overview
This is the primary way to access Hyndman peak summit and Big basin. This is a multi-use trail, so mountain bikes are allowed. The first few miles are relatively gradual and winding, lending themselves to mountain bike use. The area is fairly exposed to the sun, particularly after the trail splits and you head towards Hyndman peak basin.
Getting Started
The trailhead begins at the parking area across from the pit toilet.
Taking Children
This is a good hike for children as it is not overly steep or rocky, though sunscreen and hats are recommended during summer months.
