Jackson Peak summit via Goodwin Lake
Overview
This is a challenging in-and-out trail to Jackson Peak, passing Goodwin Lake along the way.
The scenery is gorgeous, with clear views of Sleeping Indian and other mountains in the Gros Ventre Wilderness at several spots to the left as you climb.
When you reach a sign showing the campsites at Goodwin Lake, be sure you don’t miss the left turn of the trail across the creek. Camping at the lake makes for an awesome overnight backpack!
The trail to the peak is a bit steeper from here, but very doable. The 360° views from the top will not disappoint!
Getting Started
Plenty of parking at the trailhead, but the last couple miles to get there can be rough! High clearance vehicles are required!
Taking Children
Great hike to Goodwin Lake with kids. May be challenging for kids to get to the peak.
