Got an early start at Silver Lake before civil twilight, around 6:40am. It was pretty dark. The moon was not full, but out and bright and that lit the way for the first 1/2 hour or so as I headed north west towards Gosling Lake and the UofM research area beyond Doyle Road. Initial temps were in the high 30s.
Hiking felt good and kept moving until Blind Lake. Took a break, carbed up and addressed a spot on one foot. The remaining part of the trail back to Silver Lake has some heavy ups and downs and the most rugged of the day, but I was able to push through it to end, aided by a cool breeze that had been developing during the hike.
