Overview
This is a difficult loop trail located near Martinsville, Indiana. The trail's southeastern section features beautiful campsites, creek crossings, and some amazing views. There is an amazing stone cove in the southwest section of the trail, and the northern leg of the trail is along a gravel road for close to 3 miles. This trail offers backpacking, car camping (with a short walk to several sites), and is open year round.

Lovely day, moderate humidity, but in low 70s, plenty of sunshine. Trail had some tacky mud in places from recent rains,but didn’t cling to boots.
Gravel road at the start turns to a nice woodland path and ambles down the hill. Can’t say much in favor of the gravel road toward the end. Hard on feet. Grade is not bad and when the road is used more often (after crossing tulip tee trace) It becomes more pleasant.
Diamonds mark the way and sometimes change in route are marked with two white, painted diamonds. There are also random white blazes reminiscent of Appalachian Trail, but I could not figure out their purpose. Mile markers perhaps?
First time using this app and was impressed at how closely it followed me. Did the 10.6 miles in 4.5 hours and it used about half my iPhone battery.

We had an amazing hike on this trail! The worst part is the 3 mile stretch along the north leg that is on a gravel road (I'd recommend hiking boots if you have them), but beyond that it was fantastic. There are many great campsites for those who want to backpack, and even some sites right next to the parking lot if you prefer car camping. The trail is quite different on the eastern portion than it is on the west and southern parts, makes for an interesting and enjoyable hike.
