Stone Mountain(edit)

Overview

This is a easy out and back trail to Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain Park. The peak offers great views of the surrounding park, and the nearby city of Atlanta.

Getting Started

After entering Stone Mountain State Park, keep right. There is a large parking lot near the Confederate Hall Historical & Environmental Education Center where you can begin the hike.

Taking Children

The hike itself is uphill, but there are sections of steep walking with handrails provided. However, after any amount of rain, the exposed granite becomes very slick and may not be the easiest hike for children. 7/10
