Left Hodgdon campsite 6:30am for 40 minute drive down the mountain. Sunny and 45* to start and 70* to finish. Biked to Mist trail and stop at Peets for coffee first. Mist was paved but good climb and already crowded. Falls were roaring so mist became drench. Cold morning and water left my hands numb. We stopped short of top because soaking, cold, and crowded. 2 3/4 miles Mirror loop 4 mile was groomed and flat but 300 yard section had to navigate boulders and trees off trail. Never would have done it but Robert knew trail well. After turn with Caroline witnessed rock slide 1/2 mile across the gorge above section we hiked 30 minutes earlier. Finished with 1.5 mile El Capitan Meadow hike for the view. The river and mountain view the other side was bonus.
