Coming in from Eagle Creek in Gardiner 1st time In Yellowstone. Stopped on the way twice by bison in road and herds everywhere. Sunny and 85 day, started about 70*. Easy single track smooth dirt. Trail is in wide open valley and other than river crossings really there to see critters. We saw 1 bison that was on intersect with us. He actually changed course to check us out before turning and crossing river. This hike would be 5 star if you knew you were trekking into bison, although risky.
