Track (4/7/21, 8:53:05AM)
Nine of us hiked 3.9 miles this morning... & it was WINDY!.....so, we made a slight adjustment in our hiking plan. Pam's original plan for us today was to hike thru the saddle of Quetone Point (about 1700 ft elevation) & explore the woods nearby. The woods, we explored, but the saddle will have to wait until a "not-so-windy" day. :) We hiked from Quetone Point parking at 9am & returned at 12:30. Despite the strong 15-30mph NW wind, we enjoyed our hike a lot. We saw bones, live webworms, graffiti, Melody Falls, bison, longhorn, squirrels, many fallen trees, a new-to-us mine, etc. We appreciate seeing even "small" things...parts of God's creation. We did ascend about 30-40 feet up Quetone Peak b/c we noticed a cave that was not too hard to get to. Sharon took some auto pics of us in it. We thought of several names for the cave: Frown Cave, Slot Cave, Crying Cave. Bonnie pinned it on her technology, so we actually might be able to find it again. :) Patty would have been excited about the cave as that is one of her passions. The sunny 55-65 degree temps kept us all in good moods & we thank Pam (mostly) for leading us today. Tenacious Trail Trekkers today were: Tracie Davis, Sharon Freeman, Pam Hurst, Bonnie McMahon, Kelly Sullins, Kristi Nesom, Peggy Avants, Lan Doan, Teddy Worthington. Thanks for coming!! :)
Forgot to turn off the GAIA after our hike. 😳
