This is the first part of Red Mountain Trail, it goes much farther but I was going to run out of daylight. Beautiful wilderness hikes with STUNNING OVERLOOKS over Snow Canyon. You have the option of branching to Snow Canyon Overlook, but if you stay on Red Mountain Trail the overlooks are almost as good! The first big tip I have: do yourself a favor and begin the hike by climbing over the wooden fence directly in front of the long horse trailer parking corrals. The other way to begin will have you walking for 20 minutes between barbed wire fences (see my picture I came back that way). If you climb over the fence there is a well-defined trail that will take you up to a gate a mile or more in. It can be cold and windy here in winter, a little snow from altitude. Lots of sand. Some mud if wet (wet sand and mud look the same here so be careful--slippery).
