DUCK HOLE TO AVERYVILLE RD. AND LAKE PLACID This section of trail follows the valleys of the Roaring Brook, Moose Creek, and the Chubb River. From Duck Hole to the Chubb River bridge is very rough going as the trail usually hangs on the edge of the valley. After this it opens up considerably into a rolling hardwood forest and crosses numerous small brooks and streams. Here the way is fairly easy and pleasant. It should be noted that there is no lean-to at Wanika Falls.
